DAY 1  Pick-up at Venice Airport and Drop off to the hotel

BENVENUTO, WELCOME TO VENICE! After your arrival at Venice Airport, our driver will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel located in/near Tarvisio (transfer time: approx. 2h and 15 min.). CHECK IN at the hotel and enjoy some time for relaxation after your long journey to Italy. Lunch and dinner will be on your own. OVERNIGHT STAY IN/NEAR TARVISIO AT 3-STAR HOTEL ACCOMMODATION, DOUBLE ROOM (DOUBLE OCCUPANCY) WITH HALF-BOARD SERVICE (3-COURSE DINNER, DRINKS NOT INCLUDED).

DAY 2 - The enchanting Julian Alps: Mount Lussari and Its surroundings

Walking distance: approx. 10–11 km Altitude: 810 meters - 1790 meters - 2012 meters Length: approx. 5-6 hours trekking. After BREAKFAST, you will be transferred to CAMPOROSSO (transfer time: approx. 15 minutes), where you will be met by our expert guide who lead through this amazing TREKKING EXPERIENCE that touches the “LAND OF THE THREE BORDERS”. Walking along the the old historical and religious PATH OF THE PELLEGRINO (approx. 2h and 45 min./3h) you will reach MOUNT LUSSARI, and admire and visit the SANCTUARY OF THE MADONNA OF LUSSARI that stands out like a precious gem. These easternmost peaks of the Alps have been the natural border between the Latin, German and Slav worlds since time immemorial. Today, in a time of peace, they still speak the languages of these peoples and their valleys are places of friendship and cooperation. Attracting pilgrims from three lands, THE SHRINE OF MOUNT LUSSARI is truly European and a symbol of this peaceful coexistence. According to ancient folklore, the sanctuary has its origins in 1360 following a series of miraculous events: a shepherd found sheep from his flock kneeling around a bush. With amazement, he realized that a statuette of the Virgin and Child was at the centre of the bush. The shepherd gave it to the priest of Camporosso, but the following morning, the statue was found on Lussari with the kneeling sheep surrounding it again. The event repeated itself a third time. Having been informed, the Patriarch of Aquileia ordered that a chapel be built on the spot. There is no trace left of the original chapel; the current building is the result of the restoration and extension of a 16th Century building.

After visiting the Sanctuary and the little Borgo Lussari, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant (drinks not included). Take your time, enjoy the food and the amazing panoramic views! After lunch, our itinerary continues towards the CIMA CACCIATORE, where you could admire the views of the peaks of the Western Julian Alps and part of the Carnia Alps. After the trek, we will come back to Borgo Lussari and catch the cable car that brings to Camporosso. DAY 3 - The Alpe Adria Trail and Fusine Lakes

Walking distance: approx. 11-13 km , Altitude: 850 meters - 1396 meters, Length: approx. 4h and 30 min./5h and 30 min. trekking.

After BREAKFAST, you will be transferred to the meeting point where you will meet our expert guide. Over the today’s trek you will venture into nature, discover a new corner of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and forget the stresses of everyday living. Leaving the comfort zone and expand your horizons step by step: this is the real challenge, and we know you are ready for this!

Our trekking experience will follow the ALPE ADRIA TRAIL, the long-distance hiking trail leads from the foot of the highest mountain in Austria, the Grossglockner, through the most beautiful mountain and lake regions in Carinthia, and without any major detours leads close to the point where the three countries of Austria, Italy and Slovenia intersect at the Dreiländereck, and then on towards Muggia.

The FUSINE LAKES are the first outstanding area of nature beauty we will visit. The lakes of glacial origin, connected to each other by easy paths, are well inserted in a thick spruce forest and located at the base of the Mangart mountain range. Nature shows its infinite ranges of colours painting the forest and lakes with unique shades and making this site even more magical. This is one of the most fascinating places in the region! Then, our trekking continues toward the REFUGE ZACCHI, the place where will stop for lunch (drinks not included). After lunch we continue our trek and enjoy beautiful views over the mountains, finishing the tour near the Fusine Lakes. Then, you will be transferred to your accommodation. DAY 4 - Transfer to the province of Gorizia

BREAKFAST and CHECK OUT FROM THE HOTEL. Pick-up at the hotel and transfer to your next destination located in the Province of Gorizia. Arrivederci and we hope to see you again!
